序數詞：序數詞是數詞的一種 ， 主要是在英語基礎語法中講到 ， 在中文中指出為第幾名 。除此之外 ， 在生日中 ， 敘述你出世的日期時 ， 也要用到序數詞 。例如：May-first （5月1日）；在學習英語中 ， 經常必須區別基數詞和序數詞 。
不用the的狀況：
在英語中 ， 應用序數詞時前邊得加定冠詞 the ， 可是 ， 在下面的情形下一般不加 the：
當序數詞上有形容詞性物主代詞或名詞所有格裝飾時 ， 序數詞前不用 the 。
Mother was my first teacher in my life.母親我生命中的第一個教師 。
Tom is Lilys third boyfriend. 湯姆是麗婭的第三個男友 。
當表達成績時 ， 序數詞前不用 the 。
One fifth of the students here are from the country. 這里1/5的學生們農村出身 。
