to在英文中可以用作介詞（prep.）也可以用作副詞（adv.），有對于、為了、(表示方向)到、向、(表示間接關系)給、（表示方向）去、（門）關上等意思 。
作為介詞的to
1、用于某些動詞、名詞和形容詞后，用于構成不定式
He awoke to find Charlie standing near the bed.
他醒來時發現查利正站在床邊 。
He wanted toknow what I was doing there.
他想知道我在那里干什么 。
2、為了，意在（用于動詞原形前表示目的或意圖）
I did it to help you.
我這么做是為了幫你 。

3、（用于代替關系從句）
