江蘇省普通高考模式為“3+學業水平測試+綜合素質評價” 。
1. 統考科目
統考科目為語文、數學、外語三門 。各科分值設定為：語文160分，數學160分，外語120分，共440分 。語文、數學分別另設附加題40分 。
文科類考生加試語文附加題；理科類考生加試數學附加題；不兼報文科類或理科類專業的體育類、藝術類考生不加試附加題 。
文科類、理科類考生三門統考總分為480分，體育類、藝術類考生三門統考總分為440分 。
2. 學業水平測試
學業水平測試科目包括政治、歷史、地理、物理、化學、生物、技術七門 。所有考生均需取得上述七門科目學業水平測試成績 。
文科類、理科類考生須選擇選修測試（以下簡稱“選測”）科目兩門，必修測試（以下簡稱“必測”）科目五門 。其中文科類考生選測科目除須選擇歷史外，在政治、地理、化學、生物四門中再選擇一門；理科類考生選測科目除須選擇物理外，在政治、地理、化學、生物四門中再選擇一門 。七門學業水平測試科目中，考生選定的兩門選測科目之外的五門為必測科目 。
不兼報文科類或理科類的體育類、藝術類考生，七門學業水平測試科目可均選擇必測科目 。兼報文科類或理科類的體育類、藝術類考生，參加文科類或理科類專業錄取時，其學業水平測試的科目要求和等級要求與文科類或理科類考生要求一致；參加體育類、藝術類專業錄取時，考生如報考七門必測科目（含技術科目）又報考兩門選測科目并取得成績，只選取七門必測科目成績作為學業水平測試成績；如報考五門必測科目、兩門選測科目并取得成績，可將其兩門選測科目等級視為相應的必測科目成績 。
選測科目各科滿分為120分，按考生成績分布分為a+ 、a 、b+、b、c、d六個等級 。其中：a+ 為前5%（含5%），a為5%～20%（含20%），b+ 為20%～30%（含30%），b為30%～50%（含50%），c為50%～90%（含90%），d為90%以后 。
必測科目各科滿分為100分，按考生得分分為a、b、c、d四個等級 。其中：a為100分～90分，b為89分～75分，c為74分～60分，d為59分及其以下 。
技術科目分為合格、不合格，不合格視為d級 。
3. 綜合素質評價
綜合素質評價分道德品質、公民素養、交流與合作、學習能力、運動與健康、審美與表現六個方面 。
道德品質、公民素養、交流與合作三方面，凡符合基本標準者，可評為合格；學習能力、運動與健康、審美與表現三方面，分a、b、c、d四個等級 。
