春節的習俗有哪些?春節，新加坡華人以交換"紅包"、懸掛紅色的小旗和吃魚來表示他們的信念。
新年吃魚意味著吉利。魚和菜蔬分別盛在圓碟子里，撒上胡椒和調味品，用筷子攪拌各種配料，做著向上攪調的姿勢。據說，此舉象征著在未來的事業中發財和幸運。
新加坡的華人有一道菜叫作“魚生” ，魚生廣東人吃得多了，在九江，就能嘗到九江鼎鼎有名的“撈魚生” 。食家說，自有九江人開始，就有這種“撈魚生”的吃法了。九江人吃魚生時，需要筷子撈勻配料，有“撈起撈起”的好意頭，漸漸成了當地的一種習俗。在九江白米巷的這家榮華酒店還保留著這個吃法。據酒店老板陳滿華介紹， “撈魚生”的特點主要是配料，有炸芋頭絲、紅白蘿卜絲、炸粉絲、姜絲、蒜絲、辣椒絲、蔥絲、欖角碎、蕎頭絲、麻花粒、白芝麻、花生等，總共有十幾道配料。光是準備這么多種配料，師傅就要花上半天時間，還要將選好的魚進行專門的放養。客人一到就立即殺魚放血，以保持魚肉的新鮮味美。難怪要預約才能吃到了。片片薄薄晶瑩剔透的鯇魚肉上撒上了清香的檸檬葉絲，鮮美極了。食家說魚生要即撈即吃，吃完再繼續撈。原來“撈魚生”還分兩種不同季節的撈法。先看看冬天的吃法吧。冬天要先撈魚再撈配料，好讓魚吸收配料的香味。先將魚生放入大盤中，加生油一起撈，生油起殺菌的作用，放胡椒、鹽撈勻，接著放浸了白醋的蘿卜、糖，再加生油，把各種配料都放適量進去，撈均勻，最后撒芋絲、花生、麻花粒這些脆口的配料。夏天則程序相反，由于天氣炎熱，要先撈配料再撈魚，這樣魚肉就能保持鮮美。一筷子夾下去什么配料都有了，入口爽脆，咬到魚生則鮮嫩清甜。

The Spring Festival is the most important festival for the Chinese people and is when all family members get together, just like Christmas in the West. All people living away from home go back, becoming the busiest time for transportation systems of about half a month from the Spring Festival. Airports, railway stations and long-distance bus stations are crowded with home returnees.
The Spring Festival falls on the 1st day of the 1st lunar month, often one month later than the Gregorian calendar. It originated in the Shang Dynasty (c. 1600 BC-c. 1100 BC) from the people's sacrifice to gods and ancestors at the end of an old year and the beginning of a new one.
Strictly speaking, the Spring Festival starts every year in the early days of the 12th lunar month and will last till the mid 1st lunar month of the next year. Of them, the most important days are Spring Festival Eve and the first three days. The Chinese government now stipulates people have seven days off for the Chinese Lunar New Year.
