第一：基本知識
要回答這個問題很簡單。
1】首先我們要知道五個半元音字母
a, e, i/y, o, u
y算是半個元音字母，只有在以y結尾的音節，特別是最后一個音節，y才算是元音字母，這時候，它相當于i
2】音節知識：只有一個音的音節叫做單音節詞，兩個音的，叫做雙音節詞，其余的叫做多音節詞。
一般來說，有一個元音字母或者是元音字母組合，就是一個音節。比如：
單音節詞：make，may 【ay元音字母組合】，we，week【ee元音字母組合】，bike，by【y在后面算是元音字母】，both，boss，boat【oa是字母組合】，use，us，等等
多音節詞：從單詞后面往前數，有一個元音或者是元音字母，就有一個音，加上前面的輔音字母就是一個音節；如果前面沒有輔音字母，它也算是一個音節。如果有兩個元音字母，那么，每個前后音節各分一個，見例子accumulate
比如 ability，a-bi-li-ty一共四個音節，a前面沒有輔音，也依然是一個音節
以e結尾的單詞，除了be，we，she，he等詞以外，e不發音，它只是開音節的標志，不能構成一個音節，比如
Kate，似乎又兩個元音字母，但是，e不發音，不算數，所以，只算是一個音節。
第二：開音節和閉音節的判斷
有了上面的知識，判斷它們，就是一句話的問題：
以e結尾的，或者是以元音字母結尾的音節就是開音節，否則就是閉音節
第一組
開音節：fate，mate，we，she，these，bite，by，hope，use，
閉音節：fat，mat，wet，shed，theft，bit，hop，us
單音節詞字母讀音；重讀開音節中，元音字母讀字母音；在重讀閉音節中，元音字母讀短音
第二組
accumulate……ac閉音節…cu開音節…mu開音節…late開音節
biology……bi開音節…o開音節…lo開音節…gy開音節
compact……com閉音節…pact閉音節
