David: Good morning, sir. What can I do for you?大衛：先生 ， 早上好 。我能為你做些什么嗎？
Customer: Can you cash this check for me?顧客：你能為我兌現這張支票嗎？
David: Let me see. I'm afraid we can't cash it immediately.大衛：讓我看看 ?？峙挛覀儾荒荞R上兌現 。
Customer: Could you tell me why?顧客：你能告訴我為什么嗎？
David: This is a personal check. If it were a bank's check, we could cash it right now. For personal check, we must send it to the paying bank for collection first.大衛：這是張個人支票 。如果是銀行支票 ， 我們馬上就可以兌現 。如果是個人支票 ， 我們就得首先把它寄付給付款行托管 。
Customer:Why is that?顧客：為什么？
David:Because we're not sure whether the check issuer has enough balance with the bank or not.大衛：因為我們不能肯定出票人是否有足夠的余額 。
Customer:The issuer is my good friend. He is a man worthy of trust.顧客：出票人是我的好朋友 ， 他是個信得過的人 。
David:1agree with you. But we can't credit your account until the balance is verified.大衛：我相信你 。但是我們要得到證實后才能付款 。
Customer:How long will it take to collect this check?顧客：那這張支票的托收需要多長時間呢？
David:It might take about a month.大衛：那可能需要一個月的時間 。
Customer:A month?Are you kidding me?l can't wait that long. Would you please do me a favor to cash this check?顧客：一個月？你是開玩笑的吧？我不能等那么久 。不能照顧一下 ， 幫我兌現嗎？
David:I'm sorry, sir. Please understand us if there is any inconvenience we brought to you.大衛：先生 ， 對不起 。請你諒解我們給你帶來的不便 。
Customer:Is there any method that I can cash it earlier?顧客：那有沒有什么辦法我可以早點兌換呢？
David:Well, we can instruct your bank to send the money by cable after the check's collection. However, in that case,the charge will be higher.大衛：是的 ， 我們可以指示你的開戶行在辦好支票的托收后用電報方式把款匯過來 。但是這樣的話 ， 費用會高一點 。
Customer:I don't mind. How long will it take then?顧客：我不介意 。那這樣的話要多長時間？
David: Three to five days.大衛：3到5天 。
Customer: Right.顧客：好的 。
