最近，Usher和Alicia Keys合唱的\”My Boo\”在Billboard單曲榜上走勢凌厲，看樣子很快就要拿下冠軍寶座myboo 。這首歌的流行，再次讓boo這個黑人圈的俚語單詞牢牢占據(jù)了主流文化的一席之地 。
Boo本來是一個在看不起、討厭、否定時用的感嘆詞（see boo[1,interjection]），類似中文里的\”哼\” 。
比如：
You have time to complain, but you don\’t have time to fix this little problem? Boo! （你有時間抱怨，卻沒時間去解決這個小小的問題？哼！）
Boo還可以做及物動詞，表示起哄、轟某人下臺（see boo[3,verb] transitive senses : ） 。
比如：
Michael Moore was booed off the stage for getting too political in his Oscar a cceptance speech 。（由于Michael Moore的奧斯卡得獎感言過于政治性，他被觀眾噓下了臺 。
）
當然boo還有另外一些用法，但以上兩種是最常用的，直到2002年夏天 。關(guān)注歐美音樂的朋友一定記得，當時Nelly和Kelly Rowland合唱的一首\”Dilemma\”紅透了半邊天 。最夸張的一次，我連轉(zhuǎn)了五個電臺，都在播這首歌 。關(guān)掉收音機打開電視，結(jié)果又是這首歌的 music video，恐怖 。
\”Dilemma\”里有兩句是這樣唱的：
No matter what I do, all I think about is you
Even when I\’m with my boo, boy you know I\’m crazy over you
這里的boo就是我開頭提到的黑人圈的俚語用法，它是一種親密的稱呼，類似于baby，也就是中文里的\”親愛的\” 。
無論是男朋友、女朋友、老公、老婆，總之你的另一半就是你的boo 。
\”Dilemma\”一直到今天還可以在電臺上聽到，現(xiàn)在又來了一首\”My Boo\”，不得了 。估計boo遲早會像honey，dear，darling，baby一樣無人不曉 。沒準這種用法還會被收入字典 。
