目前，家犬適應性進化和疾病的遺傳機制的研究主要集中于挖掘相關基因的階段，對于基因是如何影響表型的研究還很缺乏 。對家犬的研究仍需多學科團隊的共同努力，以及社會各界的積極參與 。
